The Tennessee Titans gave quarterback Ryan Fitzpatrick his walking papers on Friday and it was thought the Cleveland Browns may have interest in the signal caller.
Former Titans offensive coordinator Dowell Loggains is on the Browns staff, which lead to the initial suggestion that there could be a potential match given their history – history that favored the veteran quarterback.
That doesn’t appear to be the case however as Terry McCormick says the Browns aren’t interested.
Fitzpatrick is an adequate NFL backup quarterback, but that’s about the height of his skillset and the Browns aren’t exactly in the market for a backup.
That said, Fitzpatrick should come pretty cheap and there are plenty of teams in the market for a backup, so the veteran shouldn’t have too much trouble finding a job. It’s highly doubtful to be a starting job, but a gig on an NFL roster should come with relative ease.
