UFC women’s bantamweight champion Ronda Rousey has two potential opponents in Gina Carano and Cris Cyborg, but each of the possible fights would require someone to alter their weight class.
Cyborg fights at 145 while Carano has spent her career in numerous catchweight fights, so there has been discussion about whether Carano and Cyborg would drop weight to match Rousey or if Rousey would move up for the fight.
As far as the UFC champ is concerned, she would consider a move up in weight class, but only for the Carano fight.
“For Gina, there would be exceptions that I would make for Gina that I wouldn’t for anyone else,” Rousey told MMAjunkie.
It would be great to see Rousey and the UFC make one of these fights happen and the fight would be as marketable as any we have ever seen in the UFC, so we know that Dana White has to be discussing all of the possibilities and working hard to make something happen.
