Jabari Parker wasn’t the only impact player the Duke Blue Devils in the offseason.
They also received a commitment from former Mississippi State Bulldogs’ forward Rodney Hood.
Although he hasn’t been as flashy as Parker, Hood has been excellent.
The 6’8, 215-pounder is averaging 16.5 points, 3.9 rebounds and 2.0 assists per game.
Although Hood has not commented about his future and has not made a decision about the NBA Draft, Duke head coach Mike Kryzewski let the cat out of the bag.
“I wish we had him for more than one year, because the growth that he’s had in this year is terrific, and it’s because he wants to be coached and he takes responsibility,” Krzyzewski told Daniel Clark of DukeChronicle.com. “Anybody’s who’s willing to take responsibility for his or her actions usually does better, and that’s what Rodney does.”
According to the NBA Draft website, Draft Express, Hood is the 15th best prospect eligible for the 2014 Draft and they currently have Hood going 15th overall to the Atlanta Hawks in their latest mock draft.
