It might just be Spring Training, but that doesn’t mean we can’t have the most exciting play in baseball.
Clayton Kershaw, in his final tuneup before the Los Angeles Dodgers’ opening game against the Arizona Diamondbacks in Australia, was facing new Chicago White Sox center fielder Adam Eaton on Saturday. He threw a pitch that got a little bit too much of the plate and Eaton was able to square it up.
That on its own was not the problem here. The problem was an adventure in the outfield, giving Eaton the opportunity to stretch it into an inside the park home run.
When the White Sox acquired Eaton in a trade this off-season, they did so with the hopes that he would bring some edge to their team. He sure looked to bring it there, completing the play with a Pete Rose-esque head first slide.
