Braves' Ryan Doumit with finger contusion

In an update from an earlier story, Ryan Doumit apparently does NOT have a broken hand.

Kevin McAlpin of the Braves Radio Network tweeted out that Doumit has only a right middle finger contusion after being struck by a foul ball while he was behind the plate. Doumit had his right hand positioned just above his right thigh as he was crouched down, ready to receive Julio Teheran’s 2-2 pitch. The pitch was fouled off and rebounded right into his hand. He immediately made his way to the dugout in obvious discomfort.

Doumit is scheduled to undergo X-Rays as a precaution. If a contusion is really the worst that comes from this, the Braves dodged a major bullet.
