At just 26 years old, FC Barcelona striker Lionel Messi is now the club’s all-time leading goalscorer after notching a hat-trick at Osasuna on Sunday.
The first two of Messi’s three tied and gave him the lead over former record holder, Paulino Alcantara. The third goal…well, that was just the exclamation point – not that Messi is anywhere near done scoring goals for Barca.
Messi broke the record in just 452 games, putting up an average of .82 goals per match over that span. Efficient, and deadly.
Shoemaker Adidas has a little something special for Messi to celebrate the accomplishment.

I’d say that’s a full, rich day right there.
Next up will be the all-time La Liga record for goals, of which Messi is only 19 shy of Telmo Zarra’s record.
