If your favorite NFL team is in need of help at multiple positions along the offensive line, one prospect to keep an eye on is Nevada Wolf Pack offensive lineman Joel Bitonio. The Nevada standout went through his Pro Day recently and showcased his versatility for NFL scouts.
According to Gil Brandt of NFL.com, Bitonio worked out at center, guard and offensive tackle.
The Bengals and Rams coaches worked Bitonio mostly at center on his pro day; the Colts and Chargers coaches worked him out at left tackle and at guard the following day.
Bitonio (6-4 1/4, 305 pounds) stood on all of his numbers at the combine and had a very good workout. He’ll probably be a second-round pick, some place between the 40th and 50th pick.
NFL teams often look for players that can fill multiple needs along the offensive front and Bitonio became more valuable by showing that he is capable of playing every position along the line.
As Brandt noted, that versatility will likely lead to a Day 2 selection for Bitonio.
