Two NFL teams in dire need of help on the defensive side of the ball are apparently vying for one of the better values that might be left on the free agent market.

Defensive tackle Henry Melton appears to be seriously considering both the Dallas Cowboys and the Minnesota Vikings. It is starting to feel like a deal with the Cowboys is close, but Ian Rapoport of NFL.com reports that there is no deal yet and that the Vikings are still a candidate for his services.

Melton’s 2013 season was cut short by a torn ACL. A Pro Bowl player in 2012, Melton could be a key addition for whichever team ends up signing him.
