NFL Free Agent Rumors: Seahawks sign Steven Hauschka to three-year contract

One of the best kickers in the NFL will be returning to play in front of the ’12th man’ next season as the Seattle Seahawks re-signed Steven Hauschka to a three-year deal on Monday afternoon.

The deal is reportedly worth $9.15 million and will include a $3.35 million dollar signing bonus.

The #Seahawks agreed to terms with productive kicker Steven Hauschka on a 3-year deal worth $9.15M, including $3.35M guaranteed, source says

It’s certainly not chump change for a kicker, but few boots are better than Hauschka who could have likely received a similar offer from another team had the Seahawks not ponied up the cash.

Seattle (despite their unique stadium design) isn’t exactly the best place to kick in the NFL, considering their conditions, but Hauschka still put up fantastic numbers that saw him rank as a top five kicker during the 2013 season.

All said, the veteran has knocked home nearly 92 percent of his field goals during the past two seasons combined and went 11 of 12 from 40-49 yards last season.
