USC Trojans head coach Steve Sarkisian said over the weekend that he has no set deadline for naming USC’s starting quarterback.

(Ah, it’s good to know that the more things change, the more they stay the same.)

While the incumbent Cody Kessler is likely the favorite, Sarkisian said he’ll make the final call when the time feels right:

“When it feels right. I’m not putting a deadline on it. When it feels right, when it looks right, I’ll probably let it sit one more practice, just to be sure, and then we will make a decision. Right now, we’re just gathering information and installing our stuff.’’

How do you feel about this, USC fans? Do you like the idea of Kessler and Max Browne (and maybe freshman Jalen Greene) all having an equal shot at earning the starting job, or would you rather Sarkisian just make up his mind to avoid another summerlong “quarterback controversy” like the Trojans endured last season? Let us know in the comments below.
