3-star Deshon Elliott commits to Texas Longhorns

The Texas Longhorns earned a commitment from 3-star outside linebacker/ safety Deshon Elliot on Tuesday evening.

The 6’1, 200-pound Elliot attends Rockwall-Heath High School in Rockwall, Texas.

Blake Munroe of 24/7 Sports has the scoop.

Elliott, a 6-foot-1, 200-pound prospect, visited Texas for the Longhorns’ first junior day last month and told Horns247 that he “absolutely loved it” and that the staff made quite the impression on him. Only two days later Elliott told Horns247 Texas was his leader, but he had other schools in his favorites list.

Elliott is ranked as the 19th best safety prospect, the 45th best overall prospect in the state of Texas and the 330th best overall prospect in the class of 2015, according to 24/7 Sports’ composite rankings.

Elliott chose Texas over offers from their two arch rivals Texas A&M Aggies and Oklahoma Sooners, the Arkansas Razorbacks, Nebraska Cornhuskers and Oklahoma State Cowboys, among others.
