Los Angeles Clippers point guard Chris Paul has taken on a reputation as one of the most prolific floppers in the NBA, though on Monday night Paul took quite the nasty hit and the fall was well warranted.
With Wilson Chandler of the Denver Nuggets streaking down the court, Paul knew the only way he was going to stop the break was to take a charge. It was a brave decision – and one that normally probably would have ended with Paul acting a bit in hopes of drawing an offensive foul.
But before Paul could fall to the ground and put on his best Oscars performance, the knee of Wilson Chandler caught Paul in the face/chin, sending the point guard to the ground in pain.
At first glance, the hit didn’t look that bad but once things were slowed down and the reverse angle was show, it was clear Chandler’s kneecap made direct contact with the face of Paul – pure bone on bone.
Chris is pretty lucky he still has all his teeth in his mouth.
