On Wednesday afternoon, it became clear that Team Alpha Male and head coach Duane Ludwig were set to part ways. The team announced on social media that they will be looking for a new head coach and it was confirmed later in the day that the two sides agreed to split.

While there were some unfounded rumors on social media saying Team Alpha Male forced Ludwig out, the team’s star Urijah Faber said that the split is on amicable terms.

Faber also gave a list of people that he would like to see step in to fill Ludwig’s role with the team.

“I would love to get a guy like Mark Homminick or Dan Hardy, even a guy like Mark Beecher. Maybe even Robert Follis,” Faber said.

As for Ludwig, he plans to focus on building his own brand and opening a gym in Colorado.

“I’m moving back to Colorado to open and run my own gym and business,” Ludwig said, via MMAFighting.com. “Time to build my own brand. All is good here in Sacramento. Love the guys here, but I have to build my own business.”

Under Ludwig’s tutelage, Team Alpha Male had an amazing run, but now they will need to find a new man to keep the train rolling.
