New York Jets linebacker Calvin Pace never really considered signing with another NFL teams as an option. He figured that potential suitors would only be interested in signing him to a one-year deal, and that was the way he wanted to go.

Pace never brought up the word retirement, but he said going to a new organization and learning a new system really wasn’t an option.

"It was a smooth process. I knew where I wanted to be. The fact of the matter is, there is not going to be a whole lot of interest in a 33-year-old player, that’s just the way things are these days. And I’m fine with that. I’m blessed to be where I want to be, stay where I want to stay. So, all the other teams, that was never really an option for me, and again, I ended up where I wanted to end up, with the Jets, so I’m happy."

Pace started all 16 games for the Jets last season. He recorded 53 tackles and 10 sacks.
