The Dallas Cowboys got themselves a shiny new defensive tackle when they agreed to terms with Henry Melton, well kind of. Melton suffered a torn ACL last season with the Chicago Bears, but he is expected to be ready for training camp with the Cowboys.

"“Anybody that checks me out and looks at my knee, they’re all saying training camp is a good day,” Melton said."

Melton also said that even though he left the Cowboys without a contract after his initial visit, he felt pretty strongly that he would be coming back.

"My agent really didn’t know what the market value was. We were just going to visit some teams, see where everyone’s heads were at. I came here and pretty much fell in love, so that was the end of that story.”"

The Cowboys were in desperate need off some help on the defensive line before Melton signed. He recorded 15.5 sacks in his first three season with the Bears prior to his injury in 2014.
