The Washington Redskins came into free agency hoping to snag a big name player. So far, they’ve struck out, but they have added some solid depth – like their most recent signing of linebacker Akeem Jordan.
Desperate for help in their linebacking corps, the Redskins made the signing official on Tuesday morning – this after visiting with Jordan on Monday.
Redskins announce the signing of LB Akeem Jordan.
Jordan spent last season with the Kansas City Chiefs and before that played for the Philadelphia Eagles, all of which came under the guidance of Andy Reid.
Now 28, Jordan will play under somebody other than Reid for the first time in his NFL career.
Starting ten games for the Chiefs last season, Jordan was a solid presence up the middle – forcing two fumbles while amassing 67 tackles in the process.
Financial terms of the contract have yet to be released, though, given Jordan’s likely backup role it’s not expected to break the bank.
