There is an update on Cincinnati Reds’ pitcher Aroldis Chapman, who was carted off on a stretcher earlier tonight after a comeback line drive hit him in the face. The latest news is good news.
From C. Trent Rosecrans and Mark Sheldon, the Reds’ writers covering the game.

Chapman suffered laceration above left eye, Price said. Never lost consciousness and was talking, moving #reds

It was almost impossible not to fear for much worse upon initial reports of the incident, so it is definitely a relief to hear that Chapman never lost consciousness. There will be more tests and the Reds will take it slow to check for any other head injuries, but these first reports are promising.
