Mark Hominick to become new Team Alpha Male coach?

As reported yesterday, Team Alpha Male, one of Mixed Martial Arts’ most prestigious camps is parting ways with it’s head coach and former UFC competitor, Duane Ludwig. The split was mutual, and there is no hard feelings from either side.

Yesterday, the search began for a new head coach, and it looks like yet another former UFC veteran is the first candidate. Former UFC Featherweight title challenger, Mark Hominick, posted this on Twitter last night:

Hominick, who fought in the first ever UFC Featherweight championship fight, was an excellent kickboxing practitioner during his time in the UFC/WEC. His expertise could be a huge addition for Team Alpha Male and a solid replacement for Duane Ludwig.

When Ludwig took over the head coaching position at Team Alpha Male in December of 2012, it was apparent from the very beginning that the team was making strides with the new head coach. Urijah Faber, TJ Dillashaw, Joseph Benavidez, and Chad Mendes all had a fantastic 2013 campaigns with the help of Ludwig. Under his tutelage the team put together a stellar record, but they did lose two title fights.

FanSided will keep you updated if any news regarding the head coaching position is made available.
