We are just about six months away from the release of the post-apocalyptic sci-fi thriller The Maze Runner. In anticipation of the film’s release, the good people over at Twentieth Century Fox have released the first trailer for the film, giving us a little bit of insight on what is to come.
Just in case you are unfamiliar with the premise of the film, here is a quick look at the synopsis for The Maze Runner courtesy of IMDB.com.
Set in a post-apocalyptic world, young Thomas is deposited in a community of boys after his memory is erased, soon learning they’re all trapped in a maze that will require him to join forces with fellow “runners” for a shot at escape.”
The film is based off of the novel of the same name by author James Dashner.
As the synopsis says, Thomas finds himself in an elevator with no idea of where he is, or why he is there. When he reaches the top, he is greeted by a group of young men; some of which have been in “The Glade” for almost two years.
All around them is a giant maze that blocks them from leaving. They continually send people know as “runners” into the maze in an attempt to find a way out. Unfortunately, no one has ever made it back from inside.
Just when the young men start to lose hope, a mysterious girl arrives on the elevator in lieu of another young man. At this point, everything starts to change. Could this be a sign of something greater? What if they are meant to be the ones to make it out?
