Despite the injuries the team suffered, it was clear last season that the Atlanta Falcons needed a burst, and they got themselves one on Thursday as Adam Schefter is reporting that the team has agreed to terms with former Chicago Bears return specialist, Devin Hester.

Hester was released by the Bears prior to the free agency period after spending eight years with the team, solidifying himself as the top kick return man in the game. In his career, he’s returned 18 kicks back for scores, 13 punts and five kickoffs. He also has over 2,000 receiving yards on his resume, with 14 touchdowns.

While he is up their in age, eight years in the league, he can still provide a spark in the return game and possibly on the offensive side of the ball for the Falcons and QB Matt Ryan. It’ll be interesting to see whether or not the team uses him on offense, but it wouldn’t be a bad idea, as it would open up more opportunities for Julio Jones and Roddy White.
