As is sometimes the case in free agency, some reports that come out tend to jump the gun a little bit, and that’s exactly what happened with free agent defensive end Jared Allen and the Seattle Seahawks on Thursday. It was reported that the team and Allen had come to terms, however those reports were quickly shot down by Allen’s agent.

Now, Ian Rapoport is reporting that the team and Allen did in fact have themselves a lengthy meeting on Thursday, and the two sides had good talks. Allen is also suspected to make a decision this weekend whether or not to accept their offer.

Since he hit the market, Allen has been a prime target for a few organizations, with the Seahawks being one of the front runners for his services.

We’ll know by Monday whether or not that defense will get that much more dangerous with Allen added in.
