Maurice Jones-Drew’s visit with
#Steelers ended. No contract. Still no backup RB. Next?
Of course, the lack of contract may not be that telling as Jones-Drew has hinted that he wanted to meet with all interested teams before making a decision and he spent parts of two days with the Steelers, so one would assume the two sides clearly had some mutual intrigue.
There haven’t been many teams publicly linked to Jones-Drew. If anything, there have been more teams to come out and suggest they weren’t interested in MJD (like the Arizona Cardinals) so it’s not known who he plans to meet with now. That said, Jones-Drew has left Pittsburgh without a contract in hand.
The longtime Jacksonville Jaguars running back has said he’s dropped a hanful of pounds over the offseason, though is still unlikely to find much more than a backup job on the open market.
