Report: Wake Forest head coach Jeff Bzdelik will resign

There has been an ever-growing movement within the Wake Forest community to push head coach Jeff Bzdelik out of town, and it appears that the Demon Deacons faithful have gotten their wish without having to pay him off.

Evan Daniels of Scout.com reports that Bzdelik will resign from his job in the near future, and that an official announcement is set to take place “very soon”. Just after the Daniels report, Wake Forest announced a 5:00 pm ET press conference for an undisclosed announcement.

Bzdelik arrived at Wake with both NBA head coaching experience and some big-time credentials at the college level, but things have gone quite awry during his time in Winston-Salem, as the team has scuffled to just a 51-76 record over 4 seasons. If the job is indeed open, it would be a very attractive spot for some up and coming coaches, especially given the fact that university is set to put tens of millions of dollars into a new basketball facility, and the ACC continues to upgrade with conference expansion.

Stay tuned for details as they arise.

“Some big-time college credentials” ????? SAY WHAT?!?!

This guy was, is, and always will be a bum. His only winning record was while at Air Force in a garbage conference, and that was only two years. He was garbage in the NBA and garbage while at Colorado. He in no way, shape or form had big-time college credentials.

Anyone who followed DemonDeacon basketball knew it was a terrible hire from Day 1, and his work at Winston-Salem proved thusly. This is a joyous day for all DemonDeacons.

I award him no points, and may god have mercy on his soul.
