There has been an ever-growing movement within the Wake Forest community to push head coach Jeff Bzdelik out of town, and it appears that the Demon Deacons faithful have gotten their wish without having to pay him off.
Jeff Bzdelik will resign from his head coaching position at Wake Forest.

Evan Daniels of Scout.com reports that Bzdelik will resign from his job in the near future, and that an official announcement is set to take place “very soon”. Just after the Daniels report, Wake Forest announced a 5:00 pm ET press conference for an undisclosed announcement.
Wake Forest will have a press conference at 5 p.m. today. Expected to announce Jeff Bzdelik’s departure/firing/resignation.

Bzdelik arrived at Wake with both NBA head coaching experience and some big-time credentials at the college level, but things have gone quite awry during his time in Winston-Salem, as the team has scuffled to just a 51-76 record over 4 seasons. If the job is indeed open, it would be a very attractive spot for some up and coming coaches, especially given the fact that university is set to put tens of millions of dollars into a new basketball facility, and the ACC continues to upgrade with conference expansion.
Stay tuned for details as they arise.
