2014 NBA Draft Rumors: Jabari Parker reportedly leaning towards draft

Now that the Duke Blue Devils have been bounced from the NCAA Tournament after the 14-seed Mercer Bears to give us the biggest upset to this point, the focus has turned to the top freshman in the country and whether Jabari Parker will enter the 2014 NBA draft.

The assumption all along has been that Parker would declare after his one season at Duke and be one of the first two or three players taken in the draft and Alex Kennedy is hearing he’s leaning toward entering the draft, but today’s loss could alter his plans.

Parker is likely a shoe-in to be at worst the third player selected in the draft, which would match the spot where Grant Hill, the player he’s most compared to, was drafted when he came out of Duke after his junior season.

If Parker elects to return for his sophomore season he would only enhance his draft stock playing alongside the nation’s top recruit and fellow Chicago product Jahlil Okafor, but the likelihood of that seems extremely remote.
