The BYU Cougars may have found their next quarterback.
On Thursday, 3-star quarterback Kimane Domena gave his pledge to BYU.
Domena is from Portland, Oregon and is a member of the Roosevelt Roughriders.
Domena’s coach, Christian Swain, made the announcement on facebook (via Brandon Judd of The Dessert News).
“Very proud today to announce that Kimane Domena made his verbal commitment to play football at Brigham Young University!” Swain wrote on his Facebook page. “I am so happy and proud of this young man! Now let’s focus on school and finish the job on the field so your legacy is set forever!”
Domena is considered a dual threat quarterback and is ranked as the 22nd best dual threat quarterback prospect, the second best overall prospect in the state of Oregon and the 527th best overall prospect in the class of 2015, according to 24/7 Sports’ composite rankings.
Domena was interested in both in-state schools, the Oregon Ducks and Oregon State Beavers, but has not received an offer from either. The Colorado State Rams and Portland State Vikings have both offered Domena.
