The 10-seed Stanford Cardinal defeated the 7-seeded new Mexico Lobos 58-53 and will play the winner of Kansas and Eastern Kentucky which is about to begin on TBS.

Chasson Randle scored a team-high 23 points on 7-15 shooting, including making three from beyond the arc in addition to going a perfect 6-6 from the free throw line. Anthony Brown added 10 points and a team-leading seven rebounds and three assits while Stefan Nastic chipped in with 10 more points.

New Mexico’s Cameron Bairstow did all he could to help his team advance to the round of 32 with a game-high 24 points, but received very little help from his supporting cast. Besides Bairstow who show 10-18 from the field, the rest of the Lobos shot a paltry 9-34.
