In Third Round action on Saturday in the 2014 NCAA Tournament, the second-seeded Michigan Wolverines and the seventh-seeded Texas Longhorns will square off in Midwest Region action with a trip to the Sweet 16 on the line.
Michigan, following a crushing defeat in the final of the Big Ten Tournament at the hands of Michigan State, got their tournament run started off in a big way on Thursday with a huge win over Wofford. They looked more like the team we all expected to compete for the national title, rather than the one we saw against Michigan State.
Texas didn’t have as easy of a road to get to this game, but they’re here and that’s all that matters. They were able to get the last-second win over Arizona State on Thursday, thanks to the heads-up playing of Cameron Ridley, who rebounded and errant shot and put it in before the buzzer sounded.
