The Dallas Cowboys signed free agent defensive end Henry Melton earlier this week and it appears to have had some ramifications on their interest in another defensive pass rusher. While there seemed to be interest from the Dallas Cowboys in Jared Allen earlier this week, Albert Breet from NFL Network reports that the decision to sign Melton was a decision to sign Melton over Jared Allen.

According to Breer, the Cowboys saw Jared Allen and Henry Melton as an either or option and they chose Melton.

It’s sounding like the Seattle Seahawks will be signing Jared Allen, despite reports that the deal Adam Schefter said was agreed upon yesterday was never actually agreed upon. Still, this isn’t the first time a team has chosen someone else over Allen, as the Denver Broncos apparently tabled an offer to Allen to sign DaMarcus Ware.

Allen is likely fired up by being passed over twice, which is good news for the Seahawks when they sign him.
