The running back market has been slow to develop and relatively quiet over free agency. According to Aaron Wilson of the National Football Post, “New England Patriots veteran free agent running back LeGarrette Blount is scheduled to visit the Pittsburgh Steelers on Sunday night, according to league sources.”

Blount had a solid season for the Patriots in 2013 carrying the ball 153 times for 772 yards and seven touchdowns. After a down season in 2012 it was a bounce back campaign similar to his rookie and sophomore season in the league with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

While Blount is headed to Pittsburgh, the Patriots are still interested in retaining Blount who had a break out game in the playoffs against the Indianapolis Colts.

The Steelers have also hosted Jacksonville Jaguars running back Maurice Jones-Drew, though a deal wasn’t reached.
