The Ole Miss Rebels went into Tennessee and beat out the hometown Volunteers for a recruit this weekend.
On Friday, 3-star cornerback Ugo Amadi gave his pledge to the Rebels.
“I felt it was the place for me to be,” Amadi told Patton Maurice of The Tennessean. “I had a good relationship with the coaches, they love my parents, my parents love them. I felt it was time to pull the trigger and commit.”
The 5’10, 180-pound Amadi is just happy to get the process over with.
“People kept asking where I was going to go,” he said. “I wanted to go ahead and get it done and get it off my shoulders.”
Amadi attends Overton High School in Nashville, Tennessee.
He is ranked as the 33rd best cornerback prospect, the 14th best overall prospect in the state of Tennessee and the 425th best overall prospect in the class of 2015, according to 24/7 Sports’ composite rankings.
Amadi chose the Rebels over offers from the Volunteers, Cincinnati Bearcats, Duke Blue Devils and Kentucky Wildcats, among many others.
