Veteran free agent tight end Jermichael Finley is coming off major neck surgery. He suffered a spinal cord injury against the Cleveland Browns in Week 7 of the 2013 regular season, which resulted in the Packers placing him on the season ending injured reserve.

Now that he’s looking for a new place to call him, he’s expected to have to wait a couple months to sign with any team who approaches him with a contract. Now according to the Newark Star-Ledger, writer Jordan Raanan believes that the New York (football) Giants could be a team interested in bringing him in if they’re unable to find a tight end during the draft.

Right now the team has former 2012 fourth round draft pick Adrien Robinson on the depth chart but could add some serious competition if they were to land Finley.

Finley could easily show up in New York and win the starting job for the Giants. He could play a huge role with this offense, and a shot at playing with a two time Super Bowl quarterback in Eli Manning.
