Carolina Hurricanes' Cam Ward makes save of the year (Video)

Cam Ward has had a trying season with the Carolina Hurricanes in the 2013-2014 season that has been beset by injury, prone to lapses of inconsistency and at the center of a number of trade rumors.

However, on Saturday night, Ward made a highlight-reel save that was reminiscent of his glory days when he helped lead Carolina to a Stanley Cup years ago and is at the very least on the shot list for the save of the year.

Here you can see Ward dives back to try and stop the shot attempt by Winnipeg Jets forward Bryan Little and somehow, someway, manages get his stick on the shot to make the miraculous save.

This save was one of 34 made by Ward in Carolina’s 3-2 win over the Jets and Little did get a modicum of revenge when he slipped one past Ward in the third period to trim the Hurricane’s lead to one, but alas it was too little, too late for Little and the Jets as the amazing stick work by Ward was the difference.
