There are a lot of reports about Philadelphia Eagles wide receiver DeSean Jackson and his future with the team. There were reports that he wouldn’t restructure his deal to facilitate a trade which could prompt a release, and if that happens the New York Jets could be a suitor.

From Rich Cimini of ESPN New York:

"The sense I get from talking to league sources is the Jets have a measured interest in Jackson, which will intensify if he’s released by the Philadelphia Eagles — a distinct possibility if no one is willing to trade for his contract."

The Jets have already acquired quarterback Michael Vick via free agency, and he could play a role in recruiting Jackson. Cimini goes on to write that he thinks Jackson’s character issues should keep teams away, but the Jets might be willing to deal with it.

“He’s a headache waiting to happen, but the Jets appear willing to stock up on aspirin,” Cimini writes.
