MLB Rumors: Boston Red Sox reach agreement with David Ortiz on extension

It seems as if the talks between the Boston Red Sox and their star, David Ortiz, for a one-year extension have finally come to a head as Gordon Edes of ESPN Boston is reporting that the two sides have reached an agreement and an announcement could be made as early as Monday.

Just this past week, both the team and Ortiz gave some positive vibes when asked about whether or not they were close to getting a deal done, which is in the area of the $15 million that he will make in 2014.

Ortiz has been one of the most clutch, and beloved players in the history of the Red Sox organization since that memorable run back in 2004 in which they broke the 86-year World Series drought. Since then, Ortiz has led them to two more titles, including the last one in 2013.

It would be hard to imagination Ortiz in any other uniform other than the Red Sox, and it appears we don’t have to worry about that.
