NCAA Tournament 2014 Sweet 16: Kentucky Wildcats, Louisville Cardinals set to meet in Midwest Region

Rivalries are what drive sports, and in the Midwest Regional semifinal later this week, we’re going to get treated to another installment of one of the greatest rivalries in college basketball as the Kentucky Wildcats and Louisville Cardinals will battle it out for the right to go on to the regional final.

On Sunday, Kentucky undoubtedly played the best game that it had all year as they were able to end the undefeated run of the Wichita State Shockers. This young crew, comprised of such freshman studs as Julius Randle and Aaron and Andrew Harrison, showed the most complete effort they have all year in overcoming the obstacle of the top-seeded Shockers.

Louisville, after suffering a scare from Manhattan in their tournament opener on Thursday, was able to hold off a great effort from St. Louis to advance to this regional semifinal as they look to eventually advance to Arlington to defend their national championship from last season.

Despite the Cardinals having the higher seed in this tournament, in their annual regular season game back in December, Kentucky was the team that walked away with the win, just as they did a few years ago when these two titans met in the Final Four?

Who will get the win this time? Sound off with your thoughts in the comments below.
