NCAA Tournament 2014: Tennessee headed to Sweet 16, Cuonzo Martin posts a selfie with team (Photo)

Sunday night, the Tennessee Volunteers completing their third victory in the last week as they defeated the Mercer Bears in their NCAA Tournament Third Round match up. With that, this team is now headed off to the Sweet 16 in the Midwest Region to take on last year’s runner-up, the Michigan Wolverines.

After the game, head coach Cuonzo Martin posted a nice little selfie with he and his team celebrating the monumental victory.

Generally, this wouldn’t be all that relevant, but this is a huge moment for not only Tennessee, but Martin personally.

Just a few weeks ago, there was a petition to have him fired and for the school to hire back Bruce Pearl. So, even amid all of that distraction, Martin has led this team on an amazing run so far, that still has yet to be completed.

If this past week was any indication, I think those folks that wanted to see Martin pack his bags are beginning to second-guess that decision.
