If a “whole new” Portland Trail Blazers indeed show up against the Miami Heat on Monday night, they’ll be without All-Star power forward LaMarcus Aldridge.
Chris Haynes of Comcast SportsNet Northwest revealed the disappointing news earlier today:
#Blazers say LaMarcus Aldridge (back contusion) out tomorrow vs. Heat. He will get a practice in before returning and that hasn’t occurred.

Aldridge suffered a back injury against the San Antonio Spurs on March 12 and has not played since. In the five games since the injury, the Blazers have gone 3-2 in Aldridge’s absence. For the entire season, the Blazers are 7-3 when Aldridge is not in the lineup.
After taking on the Heat on Monday, the Blazers will play the Orlando Magic the next night. They’ll close out their five-game road trip against the Atlanta Hawks and the Chicago Bulls later in the week.
