Texas Rangers infielder Jurickson Profar has been scratched from today’s lineup against the San Diego Padres according to MLBlogs.com.
Profar will receive an MRI later on today in hopes of finding out what’s going on with his shoulder. The young infielder was able to survivor the hot stove over the offseason as the Rangers were open to trading either himself, Elvis Andrus and Ian Kinsler. We all know which one of the trio was shipped off to Detroit for first baseman/designated hitter Prince Fielder.
The 21 year old right handed hitter is coming off a year where he hit six home runs and 26 RBI’s with a batting line of .234/.308/.336 across the line through 286 games. So far through 17 games played during Cactus League play, Profar has 21 hits, two home runs, 11 RBI’s and is hitting .222/.276/.389.
Apparently Jurickson has been dealing with a little bit of tendinitis in his throwing shoulder so far through camp and could get a couple days off. But right now, the team is waiting to find out what the doctor has to say.
