The co-main event for UFC Fight Night 38 main card is a Middleweight collision between streaking TUF alums Cezar Ferreira and CB Dollaway.
CB Dollaway (13-5, 7-4 UFC) has had an impressive career thus far since becoming the season 7 TUF runner up. Although Dollaway lost his last bout by way of very controversial split decision against Tim Boetsch, the UFC rewarded him with a co-main event bout against TUF Brazil winner, Cezar Ferreira. Dollaway will look to capitalize on his opportunity tonight, and break into the top 15 in the Middleweight division.
Cezar Ferreira (7-2, 3-0 UFC) has looked fantastic in the UFC since winning the first season of The Ultimate Fighter: Brazil. ‘Mutante’ has won three straight inside the Octagon, looking more impressive each time out. In his last bout, Ferreira defeated Daniel Sarafian by split decision in what was supposed to be the TUF Finale in 2012 before Sarafian was injured. Ferreira will look to continue his hot streak tonight against Dollaway.
Round 1: Straight left from Mutante lands and backs CB up. Mutante lands a head kick, but eats a right hand that backs him up. CB lands again, but Mutante pushes forward and misses two big hooks. CB with a huge right hook/left hook counter that drops Mutante. CB follows up with heavy ground and pound and the ref stops it. Incredible performance by CB Dollaway. That was astonishing.
Official Decision: CB Dollaway defeats Cezar Ferreira by TKO Round 1 (0:39)
