Greg Oden says playing against the Portland Trail Blazers isn’t a big deal

Miami Heat center Greg Oden is expected to start tonight when his team hosts the Portland Trail Blazers. As you probably know, there’s a bit of a history between Oden and the Blazers, but the 26-year-old big man told reporters that the matchup isn’t anything special.

Per Oregon Live:

How would you describe your emotions playing your former team for the first time?

“It’s a game we need to win. We’ve been up and down and it’s just about this team, about us getting a win right now.”

So there’s nothing personal in facing the Blazers?

“I would like to win.”

Have you circled this date?

“Every game I play is basically a circled date. So I’m not trying to look at any team just because I used to play for them. I’m happy just to be out there playing against anybody.”

I’m going to go out on a limb here and guess that tonight’s announcers won’t be as level-headed as Oden. Just a hunch.
