The Atlanta Braves enter 2014 with an offense similar to the one they had in 2013: a lineup that can pile on runs in a hurry but can also be boom and bust because of high strikeout rates.
With a pitching staff that has been completely and uttered depleted by injuries this off-season, the Braves might find themselves relying on that offense more than they initially thought. If that is the case it will put a lot of pressure on outfielder Justin Upton to consistently produce. He got off to a huge start last season, and the Braves will need him to do that again and then be more consistent over the long haul in 2014.
On Monday he looked like he is finding his timing as he launched a solo home run to left field.
