The New York Jets and quarterback Mark Sanchez are parting ways, and Sanchez issued a thank you letter to the fans.
To New York, New Jersey and Jets fans everywhere:
Playing quarterback for the New York Jets has been the thrill of my young career. We shared some incredible moments together that I’ll never forget — big wins on the road during back-to-back AFC Championship runs, exciting fourth quarter comebacks and game winning drives.
There were some tough times but mostly good times, and in the end I know I gave you and the Jets everything I had to win the Lombardi Trophy. I only regret that we couldn’t bring it home for all of us to share, especially for those guys in the locker room and for my friend Aiden.
It’s time to move on but before I do, I want to thank you for supporting me and my brothers in green and white. I also want to thank the New York Jets organization for giving me my first opportunity in the NFL, and a special thanks to the good folks at 1 Jets Drive, MetLife Stadium and Cortland for taking good care of my family and me over the last five years. But mostly I want to thank the guys in the locker room that put in the work every day. I love you guys and I’ll miss the good times we shared.
Take care and God bless,
