NCAA Basketball Rumors: Wake Forest interested in hiring Xavier's Chris Mack

Could we be headed for another Big East head coach taking off to the ACC? Well, according to CBS Sports, we very well might be as the Wake Forest Demon Deacons are very interested in hiring Xavier Musketeers head coach Chris Mack to head up their fledgling program.

Xavier coach Chris Mack has emerged as a legitimate candidate to replace Jeff Bzdelik at Wake Forest, multiple sources told on Monday.

Last week, Mack and the Musketeers were bounced from the First Round of the 2014 NCAA Tournament by the red hot Tennessee Volunteers, but that does not in any way discredit how good Mack has been for the Xavier program.

In five years as the head man for Xavier, he has led the team to four NCAA Tournament appearances, which also includes two trips to the Sweet 16.

This news comes on the heels of Wake Forest firing their head coach, Jeff Bdzelik after another lackluster season in which they failed to make the postseason.

Yet another potential big coaching blow to the Big East may be on the horizon.
