After being released by the New York Jets, rumors began to swirl about Mark Sanchez next potential landing spot.
The St. Louis Rams and Cleveland Browns have been brought up, but ESPN’s Chris Mortensen has another team to add to the list of potential suitors – the Philadelphia Eagles.
Handicapping Sanchez landing spot once he clears waivers: Eagles, Rams & Browns. Chip Kelly could go all Pac10/12 on QBs,w Foles & Barkley
Mort doesn’t really give much to the idea outside of suggesting head coach Chip Kelly could bring in another former Pac 10/12 quarterback, but I highly doubt Kelly’s that concerned over Sanchez’s collegiate conference (despite having scouted him). More important is Sanchez’s skill – which does include some mobility and ability to hit short passes, which I’m sure Kelly is intrigued with. Of course, his deep game could use some serious work.
The Eagles could very well be in the market for a backup veteran quarterback, so Sanchez does make some sense on that level, but it’s unknown what type of money Sanchez would be wanting at this time.
