The timing of this little tidbit of information may or may not be related to the recent news of Max Scherzer rejecting a contract extension.
According to a #Source : Scott Boras has Max Scherzer protected with an insurance policy & he will receive life long security if injured.

I’m not sure what Bowden is getting at by putting this out there. Scherzer and Boras rejected a length contract extension from the Tigers that reportedly would have put him in the upper echelon of highest paid pitchers in the game. The offer was reportedly for $144 million for 6-years.
Bowden, meanwhile, offered an interesting perspective on why Scherzer rejected the offer, saying that Boras is in the business of breaking records, not necessarily getting some high dollar figure for his clients.
