4-star WR Brandon Polk commits to Penn State Nittany Lions


New Penn State Nittany Lions’ head coach James Franklin continues to roll on the recruiting trail.

On Tuesday, Penn State got a commitment from another highly touted recruit, this time, 4-star wide receiver Brandon Polk gave his pledge to Franklin and Penn State.

The 5’9, 152-pound Polk attends Briar Woods High School in Ashburn, Virginia.

Polk was teammates at Briar Woods with class of 2014 signee, quarterback Trace McSorley.

“I’m excited to get to play with him again,” McSorley told Sean Fitz of 24/7 Sports. “He brings speed that is unmatched, he has great body control and is a great route runner.

“We both worked a lot together in the offseason and we were able to develop a good chemistry between us. If I needed somewhere to go to make a play, I know that I could trust him. I have a lot of confidence in him. His speed is unmatched, and he has a great opportunity to make plays at Penn State.”

Polk is ranked as the 33rd best wide receiver prospect, the 13th best overall prospect in the state of Virginia and the 286 thbest overall prospect in the class of 2015, according to 24/7 Sports’ composite rankings.
