Following his successful bout in the main event of UFC 171 where he brought home the welterweight title with a win over Robbie Lawler, UFC champion Johny Hendricks learned that he would need to undergo surgery for a torn biceps that was suffered during the fight.
On Monday, Hendricks went under the knife and it was apparently a success.
Shortly after his surgery, Hendricks posted a photo of himself heading home and apparently enjoying the pain medication that he was given at the hospital.

Unfortunately, with many of the UFC’s top champions already out with injury, Hendricks will have to join that list.
He is not expected to make a return to the octagon until October.
