MLB Rumors: Players say Yankees, Dodgers, Angels most overhyped teams

When you’re on top, you get your fair amount of hate – something the New York Yankees, Los Angeles Dodgers and Anaheim Angels are well aware of as MLB players voted them as the most overhyped teams coming into the 2014 season.

Per ESPN:

NL outfielder: “The Yankees are the center of attention every year, so it’s fun to watch them when they’re going to be as bad as they will be this year. They’re just so old that there’s no way that lineup stays together. And even if they all stay healthy, it’s hard to see where guys aren’t tailing off.”

The Yankees blew away all teams in regards to the anonymous player vote, racking up 44 percent of the vote with the Los Angeles Dodgers came in second with 13 percent. Right behind the Dodgers were the Angels as 12 percent.

Overhyped or not, all three teams – barring major injury – should find themselves in playoff contention come the end of the season.
