With Kansas Jayhawks’ center Joel Embiid and forward Andrew Wiggins, Duke Blue Devils’ forward Jabari Parker and Australian point guard Dante Exum all expected to be in the 2014 NBA Draft, many pundits thought it could be an all time great draft.
However, many pundits are down on the draft and Boston Celtics’ General Manager Danny Ainge doesn’t think the draft is all that good.
“I think it’s maybe a little bit better by comparison, but it’s not even close to one of the best draft classes in the last 10 years,” Ainge told Gary Dzen of The Boston Globe.
Ainge thought the draft was overhyped prior to the season.
“I think thats it’s realistically hyped now, because I thought — and I said — before the season even started that it was completely overhyped. It’s like, mock drafts are never accurate until about a week before the draft. They incrementally get a little bit more accurate. But really, until June, the history would say that you really don’t want to pay too much attention to it.”
The draft will take place on June 26.
