NBA Rumors: Kobe Bryant says Shaq's laziness drove him crazy

It’s been nearly a decade since Kobe Bryant and Shaquille O’Neal shared a locker room, but it appears their issues are far from resolved.

The two – despite some friendly moments – have still continued to throw minor barbs at each other over the years and Bryant continued the war of words recently during a feature in the New Yorker.

The Los Angeles Lakers great opened up on a handful of subjects, including his tenure with Shaq where he says O’Neal’s laziness drove him crazy.

Kobe on Shaq in the @NewYorker: “It used to drive me crazy that he was so lazy.” More Kobe on Shaq: “You got to have the responsibility of working every single day. You can’t skate through sh–.”

While Shaq may not have had the work ethic of Bryant, he was still the league’s most dominating big man for a near decade stretch and was vital to the Lakers success, just as much as Bryant.

The two may never be friends, but they made one hell of a tandem – irritated with each other or not.

I believe that both Kobe and Shaq are plagued by what they could’ve been, had they worked through their issues considering what they accomplished while in good space and even in the midst of the bad. They managed to win but the “what if’s” has to play a part in the ongoing drama.
